COPFS commissioned Charles McGhee to review its communications and media services in late 2009.
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service is Scotland's prosecution authority, employing 1700 people, including 510 prosecutors, throughout Scotland. Its HQ is the Crown Office in Edinburgh and there are 48 district procurator fiscal offices, from Stornoway to Stranraer. Each district office is part of one of 11 areas led by their own area procurator fiscal. The Lord Advocate, The Rt Hon Elish Angiolini QC, is Ministerial Head of COPFS. Her deputy is the Solicitor General, Frank Mulholland QC.
